However, it is clear that this region like the whole Slovakia is based on the Christian tradition because most of monuments in villages have the ecclesiastical character. The system of religious monuments represents several belfries, chapels, interesting historic cemeteries (let us recall the oldest slovak Baroque Calvary that is located on Hlohovec cemetery) and a lot of roadside statues and crosses that accompanied the pilgrims and wayfarers in their movement in the county. Several castles, mansions and manor houses document that villages had been previously owned by various royal and feudal families. Among the most remarkable we can mention The renaissance mansion Kaplath in Koplotovce, renovated mansion Sasinkovo, mansion Horne Otrokovce with historic garden, mansion Dolné Trhovište or mansion Horné Trhovište. Some technical monuments document significant evidences of development of our region. Among the most interesting belong for instance the historic building of the railway station Leopoldov and many other sites that indicate strong tradition of production of bricks, brewing and viniculture. Little known and to some extent tabooed topic in the region is Judaism. Jewish monuments, especially cemeteries but also chapels and memorials form an important network of places across the region. The example of the cultural heritage we can observe at the entrance to city Hlohovec – in the form of castle Hlohovec that was rebuilt from the old castle and received its present form in the 18th century. It was the seat of all rulers and owners Hlohovec estate until 1945. Another important point is the Franciscan monastery with the Church of All Saints. Since its establishment has been the cultural, social, religious, spiritual and political center of the region. Empire theatre from 1802 is considered as an object of European importance. It is the oldest working aristocratic theater in Central Europe. In the nearby of city Leopoldov we can find the unique anti-Turkish fortress from the second half of the 17th century that currently operates as a prison.
